52:1 - Conversation

Here it is,
Week One
of the new 52 Photos Project year.

Our first prompt is:  Conversation.

Max is schooling his new "sister" Gracie
in the proper way to play ball.
I couldn't post the video with sound -
Max wasn't using very "delicate" language.

Check out more conversations at

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At about 11 weeks old, Grace tends to annoy the heck out of 9-year-old Max, but he's beginning to get used to her.
Even if she does wear him out sometimes.
But, honestly, who could resist this?
Max & Gracie own my friend Marilyn, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
52 Photos Project: Self Portrait
It's Week 52
and our prompt is
Self Portrait
This is my Nikon Coolpix.
I carry it nearly everywhere.
Since I take a lot of my photos while driving,
I thought this would be apropos.
52 Photos Project: My Favorite Place
There are many, many places that I favor, but I couldn't pick a favorite one.
This was taken in one of the places I love.
Generally I refer to these as
the local mountains.
On the map, though,
they are the
San Gabriel Mountains.
And these, more specifically,
were on Mt. Baldy.
52 Photos Project: Layers
This week's prompt for the
52 Photos Project is
LAYERS.
My first thought was to take a picture of some
chickens,
but that didn't work out for me this time.
So here is my next thought:
This is one of the Eucalyptus trees
that line the streets of
Claremont, California.
I've long been fascinated by their peeling bark,
so yesterday I stopped & snapped some shots.
This is a Blue Gum.
Blue Gum Eucalypts are one of the major sources of eucalyptus oil which can be used as an essential oil, in herbal teas & medications for a few examples.
However, it can also cause contact dermatitus, headaches & convulsions, and even be fatal if ingested.
