This week's prompt for the
52 Photos Project is
LAYERS.
My first thought was to take a picture of some
chickens,
but that didn't work out for me this time.
So here is my next thought:
This is one of the Eucalyptus trees
that line the streets of
Claremont, California.
I've long been fascinated by their peeling bark,
so yesterday I stopped & snapped some shots.
This is a Blue Gum.
Blue Gum Eucalypts are one of the major sources of eucalyptus oil which can be used as an essential oil, in herbal teas & medications for a few examples.
However, it can also cause contact dermatitus, headaches & convulsions, and even be fatal if ingested.

That's a great interpretation of 'layers'. I love the softness of the colors ...
ReplyDeleteOh I love the Eucalyptus trees. There was a row of very old ones lining the road adjacent to my high school in Vista, California. No Eucalyptus in Oregon. Love the perspective in this shot.
